A Word from our New ED:

My name is Michael Bennett; I am humbled and honored to be the incoming executive director for Southeast Soccer Club. I wanted to take a quick moment and introduce myself.  

I come to Southeast with a passion for the game of soccer and also over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience. The duties I have held included executive and operational directorship to public relations and volunteer management. To put it plainly, I have a track record of successfully leading both programming and people.

From my first conversation about this opportunity, I have been incredibly impressed by the culture of this club. Putting children first and making an affordable, accessible and inclusive soccer experience is a testament to the work put in by my predecessor, Adam, the devoted staff of Jessica, Rachelle and Ryan, the Board of Directors and the club's incredible pool of volunteers. I can say, with all sincerity, that joining an organization like this is an absolute privilege for me, and I can hardly wait to get started.      

As for me personally, you'll usually find me with my family -- my wife (Erika) and two sons (Gavin & Lachlan). I am actively involved as a coach of soccer, baseball and futsal; but I also enjoy just being a dad who is cheering on his kids in all facets of their lives. You can also find me regularly on the squash court or on a bicycle. Additionally, I have a passion for music, where I play multiple instruments (some not very well) and sing a little bit too.
