Join the Southeast Soccer Board of Directors
What is Southeast Soccer?
Established in 1981, Southeast Minneapolis Soccer (SES) is a small, community-based soccer club that provides opportunities for boys and girls between the ages of 8-18 to play traveling soccer in leagues sponsored by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).
SES offers an alternative to larger traveling soccer clubs.
SES is run by a volunteer board of directors and has two part-time employees (both of whom work limited hours) that are charged with facilitating registration (Club Coordinator) and promoting the club (Club Representative).
What is the role of the SES Board?
The SES Board of Directors has five core functions
What is the time commitment?
The SES Board meets approximately 8 times per year, typically for two hours on a mutually agreeable weekday evening. (It is understood Board Members may occasionally have to miss a meeting). Individual board members may take on tasks outside of meetings (e.g. meeting with staff, helping organize an event, securing facility rental) as their interest, schedule and time allow.
Who is eligible to be on the SES Board?
Participation on the SES Board is open to Eligible voting members shall be anyone age 16 years and older that is a player on a Southeast Soccer team, a parent of a Southeast Soccer player, or a volunteer coach or manager of a Southeast Soccer team. Due to potential conflicts of interest, employees and contractors of Southeast Soccer are not eligible voting members even if they are a player, parent, or volunteer and would otherwise be eligible.
Why should I volunteer to be on the SES Board?
OK, you convinced me. Now what?
Send us an email (board@sesoccer.org) telling us a little about yourself and why you’d like to participate. Someone from the SES Board will be in touch with more information.
