A Great End to a Memorable Fall Season

The Southeast Strikers U14 Boys capped off a brief but memorable Fall season by winning the U14 C3 State Championship.

The title game against Eden Prairie was a tight match, tied at 1-1 with 3 minutes to go when Noah Muller took a pass from Matteo Veglia and launched a 30 yd strike into the upper right corner that the unfortunate Eden Prairie goalie could only watch.

It really was the perfect ending of a season that saw the merging of two groups - the remaining Southeast Strikers (including Noah) and a great new crop of players from the Southeast Pumas (including Matteo).

There were many exciting moments during their eight game undefeated streak. They did tie their first game of the season against Eclipse but then went on to beat that same team in dramatic fashion in the State semi-finals.

Congratulations to all the boys and to Coach Mike Ramirez for a great run! In a season punctuated by lost practice time due to soggy fields, the boys worked hard, came together (even coaching themselves to a 6-0 win against Woodbury when Mike had car trouble) and provided their fans with a short but thrilling season of soccer!!

Way to GO STRIKERS!!!
